The walks

We are surrounded by hundreds of kilometres of walking routes so there are lots of different options for your holiday.

In general the walks are through beautiful French countryside but there is more to this area than fields and rivers. One of the routes will allow you to visit St Savin Abbey (a UNESCO World Heritage site), whilst another takes you through one of France's prettiest villages, Angles-sur-l'Anglin. If you find yourself missing civilisation then you can do a walking route in Poitiers, the former capital of the Region and a town full of Romanesque history. In Montmorillon (City of Writing) you can walk round the old town, perhaps stopping to browse in a bookshop, or incorporate a visit to the well-known macaroon shop, learning about the history of this sweet treat.

Your itinerary will be tailored to your requirements - you can choose the distance and the type of scenery. If you want to take a break from walking then there are lots of other things to do in this area. For other sporting activities you can go canoeing or horse riding, play golf or do some rock climbing. Why not visit Saint Savin Abbey, Chauvigny market or a chateau? If you just want to relax then you can put your feet up and enjoy the beautiful views.

No matter where you walk, comprehensive walking notes are provided to ensure you don't get lost or miss any of the interesting points along your route.
